RUBY HILLS
Since 2002
Our Story
The Ruby Hills farm looks over the misty and lush valleys of Mogok, Myanmar, a region famous for its precious rubies. The farm is a passion project of two close friends born and raised in Mogok, with a mission of providing healthy and organic options for all. Driven by quality and sustainability, the duo has experimented and perfected our teas and specialty coffee over the past two decades. This drive has been passed on to their second-generation for our specialty coffees to win several awards over the years and all our products to be certified high quality and organic by international organizations. Helping the local communities of planters and harvesters, while providing the best quality products has also become an integral part of our ethos. Ruby Hills is the culmination of our passion and dedication toward these goals.

RUBY HILLS
Mogok and Location
The Ruby Hills farm is a 140-acre plantation by Arrow Brothers Agriculture dedicated for specialty coffee and tea-leaf production. It overlooks the Mogok valley at 1,500 meters above sea level. Mogok’s high elevation, cool weather, and ample vegetation creates a perfect location for both coffee and tea plantations. The fruits and blossoms of 350,000 tea and 40,000 coffee plants are hand-picked by our local harvesters and trainees, and processed with our innovative techniques on-site.

RUBY HILLS
Mogok and community effort
The name “Ruby Hills” is an ode to Mogok and it’s famous precious ruby deposits. It is where 90% of the world’s rubies are found. These ruby deposits have created many opportunities for its residents, from mining to trading and metal/gold-smithing. Over the centuries, however, this has placed Mogok on a high dependence on the single natural resource.
With Ruby Hills, we want to shift people’s view of the region to not just focus on the underground. We are inspired to create and protect the Mogok community by providing other job opportunities in agriculture and knowledge sharing. Ruby Hills is not only a farm but also a training center for harvesting, and practicing organic and sustainable farming. Our harvesters are mostly female and this community of strong women is really the backbone of our farm. We are committed to employing women and ethnic minorities in Mogok to contribute to women’s economic empowerment and inclusive economic growth.
